tied up between the winter and my bed
somewhere along the coast of lake ontario,
sitting in china, breathless on the face of a mountain.
drunk and taking in the scenery we build a palace
sketched out of clouds, townspeople, and the ink bleeding through these pages. filled to the brim
we stumble, gently, across miles of numbered doorways.
we collide, wildly, like the flesh of a star and a comet,
and your teeth leave craters on my neck.
seasons later you run away to chase the moon
until it crashes between you and my pen.
we're sprinting between an ocean -
every second a thousand lifetimes -
until the scribbles equal a collective, rumbling thunder
beckoning after a long draught.
